Levac Supply Limited is pleased to host Fall Protection Fundamentals Training Classes for our customers. With amendments to the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA) Regulations, which took affect on June 12, 2002, employers will need to ensure that workers who may use a fall protection system are adequately trained in its use. Further, the amended regulations (OHSA Reg, 145/00, ss.13,42 (2)), states that a worker must be given “adequate oral and written instructions by a competent person.”.

In order to assist you in reaching compliance with the revised regulations, Levac Supply Limited is hosting in class training sessions as described below:

Style:
In class lecture including slides and video, Hands-on scenarios applying theory discussed to practical workplace situations. This is a very active hands-on course, which will require participants to utilize equipment to be installed (or already installed) on site. This course includes both a practical and written examination that will be marked in class. This is not a pass/fail course unless the administrators wish to make it so. A certificate of attendance will be issued for each participant attending the entire course. Levac Supply Ltd. will maintain course records and a summary of results will be forwarded to the course administrator along with certificates after the course.

Class Size: Minimum 1 - 15 students.

• Governing regulations relating to fall protection
  
• Hazard recognition (why fall protection)
• Fall Prevention (e.g. handrails, guardrails, etc.)
• Fall/work restraint systems
• Fall arrest body holding devices>
• Fall arrest anchors and anchorage systems permanent and temporary
  
• Fall arrest connecting means

Recommended Attendance: This course is intended for workers who require a working knowledge of pre-established fall protection systems. It will provide those workers who are expected to be at height, an understanding of both how the systems are to be used, and why they are to be used.
